Optimize mobile browsing & shopping experience on 2,500 devices with Netsize mDevices.
Netsize is launching a new online service totally dedicated to mobile handsets recognition. Access information on over 2,500 devices online and in real-time today.
Paris September 25, 2007. Netsize is pleased to announce the launch of its information database module « mDevices ». mDevices is a knowledge database on mobile handsets technical features and functionalities accessible remotely and in real-time via an API/Web service.
Over 2500 mobile handsets are documented on mDevices today. For each handset, Netsize tests more than 160 features, taking into account screen size, video compatibility, musical formats etc…. The information collected, by a dedicated team, is then integrated in a database comprised of 7 main themes: basic, connectivity, navigation, image, music, video, application.
On average, each month in close collaboration with 70 operators in Europe, Netsize enriches mDevices with 50 new mobile handsets. Also leveraging its field experience with customers having deployed over 450 sites into 20 countries, Netsize has developed a unique know-how and time-to-market in integrating key handsets for each market.
« Optimising mobile browsing experience and product merchandising according to devices capabilities may sound trivial or obvious. However with close to 2,500 mobile handsets in the European market and couple hundred new models coming out each year, this information update can quickly become a nightmare for brands and merchants and be of crucial necessity if they wish to propose their consumers a compelling shopping experience on mobile », notes Renaud Ménérat, marketing director of Netsize Entertainment Solutions.
With this new product offering which references all mobile handsets in the market, Netsize provides a real solution to the vast majority of mobile content publishers. Web based companies should also benefit from this offer as it will smooth their convergence effort from web to mobile by tapping directly into a knowledge base that has taken Netsize three years to build.
